300 days in a row, I’ve been writing and publishing new blog posts every single day.
I’ll admit honestly, sometimes (on busy days) at 10pm I felt like I was dashing off a post just to stay in this uninterrupted marathon for one more day.
I managed to solve this by building up a set stock of posts ahead of time. In September I started brainstorming 30-40 topics in advance, things worth talking about. I began making drafts — writing 3-4 thoughts on a topic and setting the post aside for later.
A couple of days later I’d come back to it and polish it up a bit. And that’s how, every day, I now move between this stockpile of content and finishing off whichever post I feel like exploring that particular day.
This way (I think) the quality of the posts should go up, and I won’t end up writing a filler post on my busiest days, just to avoid breaking this writing experiment.
When you write this long, every day, your fingers sort of start fusing with the keyboard. Thoughts get formed and poured onto “paper” more and more easily and quickly.
Every day, living through different events, I notice a few topics worth exploring in the blog. I’ve become more observant and turned into a collector of post ideas. Almost any event in life, if you want it to, can become a reason for a new post.
An even bigger upside turned out to be that these posts make it easy for me to announce new intakes at our school. Now you know that “Financial Literacy” starts on the 23rd, and all the course details are in my saved Instagram stories.
Writing every day is an interesting experience. And I honestly didn’t think so many people would read and look forward to these daily posts. Thanks to everyone who finds the time to read them, and especially to those who share them to their own stories.
