November Results Across 7 Spheres

Best book of the month — Simon Sinek's The Infinite Game. Main insight — the more time I spend alone at home, the lower my emotional state.

1) Best Book

The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek. A really powerful book about the fact that the world contains finite games (football, going on vacation, building a house) and infinite games (business, building relationships, caring for your health). And about how our psychology as players defines whether we win or lose in each game.

2) Movies / TV Shows

Nastya and I really enjoyed A Time to Kill (1996). Keeps you on edge.

I also rewatched the Brad Pitt film F1 about three times. It’s the first time a movie has inspired me so much that I returned to it several times within a single month.

For series, we sometimes watch Nobody Wants This on Netflix. A light, easy-going show about a rabbi’s relationship with a shiksa. I’m using those terms on purpose so you can look them up 🙂

3) Most Useful Video

A podcast on The Diary Of A CEO with Daniel Priestley. Discovered this English entrepreneur who explains money and business in very simple language.

4) Skill I Worked On

Working with AI. More and more areas of my life are becoming tightly connected to AI. Right now it already analyses different financial assets for me, calculates the return on my investment portfolio, and gives sensible recommendations and analysis.

5) Hypothesis I Tested

For Black Friday we tried a new strategy. We had a sales page for each of our products. We ran a series of email blasts. I recorded more than 10 videos where I mentioned the promo at the end. We pointed stories at our sales pages where people could buy immediately. Our admins spent a lot of time in DMs.

As a result, in November 265 new students enrolled in our school and we sold 362 programs. This is a new sales record for us.

Our strategy of doing the same thing each time but improving the details a little works very well.

6) Habit I Worked On

I’m still keeping a paper habit tracker. Occasionally I miss a few days.

Of all my habits (currently 9) the hardest one is not eating after 8 PM. I’m really struggling with night eating.

I’ve put on some extra weight and crossed the unpleasant line of 100 kg — my ideal weight being 88 kg. Recommendations for a good trainer or nutritionist are welcome.

7) Main Insight of the Month

The more time I spend at home, the lower my emotional state.

I’m in a period where I’ve moved out of my old office but haven’t yet been able to find a new space. I don’t want a basement office and I don’t want to drive to the office. I’m looking for somewhere close to home.

I’ve noticed that on days when I have meetings in the city, or simply leave the house for any reason, my mood improves sharply. In practice I keep confirming this: the more time you spend alone at home, the lower the wave you ride.

So I’ll try to solve the office problem soon and stay in motion. Meetings with other people are the best medicine and the key to high productivity.
