How Do You Build Decisiveness?

The worst thing at a crossroads is to stand still. How I make decisions on paper, and why a wrong turn beats indecision.

People often freeze when they face an unpleasant fork in the road. Every path leads somewhere, and every choice carries real consequences.

The way I see it, it’s worth thinking everything through on paper, writing out the different options, then making the decision and acting.

The worst thing you can do is stay put in indecision.

Whatever you do, don’t linger at the crossroads.

All you’ll do there is burn through nerves, time and energy — and you still won’t be any closer to your goal.

Even if you get it wrong and take the wrong road, once you realise it you can come back and choose another one.

But at least you’ll be in motion the whole time, and you’ll start to understand which road is yours and which isn’t.

Time is an opponent that doesn’t forgive indecision.
