I Haven't Written Anything in a Long Time…

For a year and a half my focus was on video. The team has grown, my attention is free again — and I'm coming back to text. The four directions I'm starting with.

For the last year and a half my attention has been on making video content.

Somewhere around April 2022 I heard Gary Vaynerchuk say: “If you post three videos a day on TikTok, in six months you won’t recognise your life.”

I decided to try it and methodically published videos every single day, on my own. Gary was right — six months later my life had changed radically. One day I’ll write about all the good things that happened to me because of that decision.

Before I threw myself into video, text was my only way of talking to the people who followed me. Back then a couple of thousand people were watching. But even then my posts mattered to someone, and now and again I got feedback that my blog was useful.

Right now about ten people are involved in creating and distributing my content, so I have the spare attention to come back to writing.

I believe this decision will improve how I communicate with my audience and make the content even more useful for you.

For the next few months I’m not taking online consultations in the mornings. I want to train myself to write early, before I pick up the phone and plug into the digital world.

First of all, I want to start journalling again. It’s a good way to reflect, and it generally gets the process of pouring thoughts onto paper going.

I’ll also try to write out the points and ideas for our videos more carefully.

I want to post text regularly on social media and finally build my Telegram channel, LinkedIn, Threads and other platforms properly.

I might even be able to start working on the books that have been living in my head for years.

And if I manage to turn even one of these four directions into a system, I’ll already be glad I got the habit of writing back. Our speech and writing centres are connected, so the more time I give to text, the better I’ll get at conveying my thoughts to the 200,000 people who have followed me over the last year and a half.

Reading helps, but what changes a life is specific steps, not reading. Fifty minutes of conversation is usually enough to see which steps are yours.
