I tried working from home for a day instead of the office and the day turned out sluggish and lazy. Why the fridge and the sofa kill productivity.
Do you spend a lot of time at home?
I recently heard the idea that “the more time a man spends at home, the more passive he becomes.” The thought continued: when you’re within your own walls, you’re close to easy dopamine in the form of the fridge, the sofa, a computer screen or the TV.
I’m currently in a period of life where I spend most of my time working at the office.
I give myself 1 day off. Usually it’s Saturday, when Nastya and I go out somewhere in the city. Sundays we spend at church, and I can’t say I get proper rest that day.
This morning Nastya left for a three-day session at her university. I stayed home alone and decided to try working from home a little, for a change.
It turned out to be a very sluggish and lazy day — I spent a lot of time scrolling the feed, watching YouTube, eating, and did a couple of consultations.
It’s too early to draw conclusions, but at first impression working at the office is dozens of times more productive than working from home.
What about you? Is it easy for you to do something productive at home, or do you also fall into the Bermuda triangle of fridge — TV — sofa?

Reading helps, but what changes a life is specific steps, not reading. Fifty minutes of conversation is usually enough to see which steps are yours.
