People come to me trying to fix their family problems with astrology, tarot and Vedic practices. Here's why, as a Christian, my view of this is strongly negative.
Can magic and esotericism help solve family problems?
People sometimes come to my consultations who actively practice astrology, tarot, all sorts of Vedic practices and other esoteric things.
Since I’m a Christian, my attitude toward these things is strongly negative. I know how many problems a person can create for themselves by opening the wrong spiritual doors out of ignorance.
So in those conversations I explain why it isn’t worth trying to solve your current problems through practices like these.
When a woman’s husband has left her for another woman and she’s in despair, going to some fortune teller, astrologer, card reader or hypno-coach to bring him back — or at least to survive the breakup — can look like a reasonable idea.
I would suggest holding back from that, and from visiting “specialists” of this kind. The spiritual world is real. It has a dark side and a light side.
Over the past 10 years I’ve seen plenty of people who once, not knowing any better, opened one spiritual door or another, and then spent a long, hard time dealing with the consequences.
For instance, not everyone knows that “just” watching horror films can lead to very real problems in a person’s psyche.
Together with Nikolay Savchuk I recorded two podcasts on magic and esotericism. You can watch them on the Spiritual Lifestyle channel on YouTube — Bishop Nikolay goes into the subject far more deeply there. Worth watching if you care about your own spiritual development.
Once, as an 18-year-old, I was interested in esoteric literature myself and read about karma, past lives and all the rest of it.
At 24 I came to God, and that’s when my life genuinely started changing for the better.
The Bible says a tree is known by its fruit. My life between 18 and 24 wasn’t a happy one, even though I studied a great deal from various esoteric sources.
It was only when I began building a personal relationship with the living God that I saw every area of my life gradually transform.
If you’re also searching for answers and want to understand yourself, your purpose and your life better, watch the podcasts on the Spiritual Lifestyle channel.
We talk there about deep and spiritual topics with people who genuinely have something to say about how a person grows spiritually.
