A Jim Collins book, Mayor of Kingstown, the skill of short video, a sleep routine, and the insight of the month: every piece of content leads somewhere next.
1) Best book
Great by Choice by Jim Collins. One of the best business books I’ve ever had the chance to read.
2) Films and series
Of the films, I enjoyed Arthur the King the most.
For series, Nastya and I watched the new seasons of Mayor of Kingstown. It’s a little brutal, but an incredibly atmospheric and gripping action thriller.
3) Most useful video
This month I kept watching the YouTube channel “The Bible Project,” and I also started listening to Steven Furtick’s sermons in a new way.
I also discovered interviews with Jamie Dimon on YouTube. He runs JPMorgan. A very balanced and interesting man.
4) Skill I worked on
Recording video to a specific script. I tried to fit into 40-50 seconds, and didn’t always manage it. It was an assignment on the social media course I spent the whole month taking.
5) Hypothesis I managed to test
You can comfortably sell recordings of our previous courses straight from new reels. I started making videos that end with a call to go to the saved stories with the warm-up sequence, and people began buying our educational products from there without any friction.
6) Habit I worked on
Going to bed around midnight and getting up around 8 a.m. The routine is slowly coming together. There are still slip-ups, but overall I feel far better than when I was going to bed at 2 or 3 in the morning.
7) Main insight of the month
It’s hard to pick just one — there were many. I can see that we’re going to rebuild our whole educational business quite aggressively. I’ve never worked with sales funnels or automation. For the entire existence of the New Lifestyle school, every process has been manual. After six weeks of study, I understood that my whole education business could look completely different.
The main insight right now is that every single piece of content can lead a person to the next, prepared step. We’re starting to build out the customer journey.

Reading helps, but what changes a life is specific steps, not reading. Fifty minutes of conversation is usually enough to see which steps are yours.
