I've decided to show not just the results but the whole path: goals, mistakes, the habits still holding me back. Like an RPG, except the character is real.
I’ve decided to show publicly how I develop and how I move toward my goals.
I know some of my subscribers will think I’ve been doing that for ages, but in reality I show only the small tip of a very large iceberg.
99% of what happens in my life and in my business stays off camera.
Yesterday’s idea — creating a virtual character that reflects my progress (or lack of it) in real life — resonated with a lot of people.
There’s a neural network called ArtFlow that can generate reasonably convincing images of a person.
With it, I can build a virtual avatar of myself that shows you all kinds of parameters and stats from my actual life.
It will track things like:
- discipline
- storytelling
- being systematic
- working on camera
and plenty of other skills and character traits.
Just like a computer RPG. You have a hero, you level him up so he can beat the bosses and move to the next stage of the game.
Real life works much the same way. We have real problems (bosses), and solving them takes us to a new level of life. Wrong thinking and laziness get in the way, which is how we can spend years stuck in the same bad circumstances.
To deal with those problems we have to level up our thinking and act differently from the way we’re used to.
That path of inner and outer transformation is exactly what I want to show you. You’ll know what my goals are, why I chose them, what’s working and what still isn’t. You’ll be able to watch the progress in real time. My virtual character will mirror, one to one, the qualities I’m actually developing in real life.
I’ll tell you about my mistakes and failures. I’ll show you the bad habits and beliefs that are still holding back my growth.
I think it could turn out interesting and useful. Right now I produce a lot of expert content. Consuming it constantly is fairly hard going, because I’m a rather dry and monotonous author.
Maybe this format with a virtual avatar will lighten up my boring educational blog a bit.
