Anastasia and I Go to the Gym Together

We are both busy, yet we stay inside each other's lives. Here is how one full day off a week keeps us connected as a couple.

How do we find time for each other when we are both busy?

Since March my schedule has changed a lot. I used to spend 80% of my time at home and only occasionally went to the office. Now I leave for the studio in the morning and come back in the evening.

On the upside, Anastasia and I started planning our time together far more deliberately. I set aside one day a week as a real day off. We go out for lunch or breakfast together. Sometimes we take an evening walk. Today we worked out together.

Because of that, despite the sheer volume of tasks and work, we stay inside each other’s lives as a couple.

I remind myself that work always was, is and will be there. Incoming tasks never run out. As you develop and grow professionally, you keep unlocking the next layer of opportunities — and the workload that comes with it.

But a family is easy to lose if you throw yourself into work entirely and the person next to you starts feeling lonely. No amount of money or prospects will keep your wife warm if there is no attention and no time spent together.

So ambition and healthy workaholism are good things, but keeping the balance matters.

Do you plan time to spend with the person you love?

Texts give you understanding, but your situation is always more specific than any text. Fifty minutes is usually enough to see where the problem actually starts.
