Water can sit still in a swamp or run alive in a river. Real examples of how barely noticeable daily steps add up to a year of progress.
How do you stay happy?
I often repeat an idea I once heard from Tony Robbins: “happiness is progress”.
Water can sit still in a swamp, or it can run fresh and alive in a river.
If each of us aims to improve our life even minimally, we will feel momentum and growth.
How does that work for me in practice?
For the past few weeks I have been improving our studio. We are figuring out new equipment, buying a few extra things, optimising, testing, analysing, making mistakes.
Some days the steps forward are very small.
Today, for example, I added our three lights to the Godox app that controls them and learned to adjust the picture remotely. A trivial thing, but it gives a sense of progress.
We unpacked a garment steamer and moved the rack with T-shirts into the studio. A trivial thing, but you feel you have moved a couple of centimetres forward.
And it works like that in everything. Insignificant steps taken every day add up to significant progress over a quarter, and even more so over a year.
Don’t underestimate the power of small steps. In our life absolutely everything accumulates.
Do you feel happy when you are making progress in some area?
It is rarely a lack of knowledge
Income runs into thinking and habits, not information. In a session we work out what is actually holding you back and what to do about it in the coming weeks.
