I Have to Say No a Lot

I Have to Say No a Lot

Early on it pays to grab every opportunity. But a moment comes when you have to turn down 90% of what comes in, just to keep your focus on the one thing that matters.

I very often have to say no.

I used to believe that being open to new opportunities was exactly what takes you to the next level.

And at the start of the road it really does work that way. When your time isn’t worth much and you don’t have many opportunities, it’s better to grab everything and keep climbing.

But later a moment can arrive when the number of opportunities, invitations and collaboration offers of every kind gets so large that even analysing them becomes a problem.

Right now I have to say no to 90% of the incoming flow of offers.

Losing focus could very quickly pull me away from my single most important activity — creating useful educational content.

For now that’s my lever, my key action, the main hypothesis behind my growth. If you make good videos, social media promotes them to millions of views on its own.

Until I hit the goal of one million followers, I want to keep my head down and give 80% of my time and attention to exactly that: making good educational content.

And do you often have to say no?

Does it make you uncomfortable when you do?

It is rarely a lack of knowledge
