I Was an 'Invisible Expert'

For over 10 years I worked on my projects and built my skills, but stayed in the shadows. Getting the word out matters more than almost anything else.

For more than 10 years, I was an “invisible expert.”

Between 2011 and 2022, I worked on my projects, invested in them, built my skills and expertise — but I felt like I stayed in the shadows the whole time.

My ideas and products were good, or so it seemed to me, but almost no one knew about them. Clients only found me through word of mouth or some random connection.

The whole time, I watched other creators — maybe less experienced or less skilled than me — get attention, visibility, and customers through social media. It irritated me and felt “unfair.”

Then I realized something: it doesn’t matter how good your product is if nobody knows about it. Getting the word out and reaching people matters more for growing your work than almost anything else.

My head can be full of brilliant ideas and knowledge, but if I’m too scared to put myself out there publicly, all those “treasures” will just get buried along with me.

In April of 2022, I once again started actively blogging — but this time it actually worked, and little by little an audience gathered around me. That radically changed my life.

My business grew tenfold, I met incredible people through the blog, and I found an outlet for self-expression and creativity. I started regularly hearing gratitude and warm words from people my content had genuinely helped.

I understand now that one simple decision — to start blogging systematically — fundamentally changed my whole life for the better.
