A lot of people sense real potential inside themselves, but spend years doing work they don't love for little money, while social media stays undeveloped.
A lot of people right now are doing work they don’t love for little money (or aren’t working at all right now due to family circumstances, like being on maternity leave).
And yet, inside, they sense real potential. They have ideas, a sense of what they enjoy and what they’d like to do. A desire to share their perspective with other people. A wish to bring their own products or services to market.
But somehow they never get around to developing their social media presence… Or when they finally do, their motivation runs out after a handful of posts that didn’t really change anything. The audience didn’t really react, and nothing tangible happened.
It starts to feel like everyone else’s life is working out in their feed or their stories, and yours isn’t. Motivation and drive quietly fade. Procrastination, laziness, self-doubt, and frustration move in.
On one hand, this person understands that social media could bring them new customers and solid income. On the other, it’s incredibly hard to build up the momentum in that space that would actually make it real.
I was in that exact situation for years. I watched other people online living out their potential, while I earned money doing work I didn’t love and felt sad inside.
If I could go back in time, I would have started actively developing a blog much earlier. My first attempts at going public date back to 2011. If I simply hadn’t given up back then, I’d almost certainly have a much bigger audience today, and completely different opportunities.
But I’m glad I finally decided to develop the blog in 2022. Now thousands of students come to study at our school, and we can be useful to millions of people through our content on social media.
If you sense potential in yourself to change your life, social media is one of the most important and most accessible ways to do it. You’ll have to work hard at it, but the result can exceed your boldest expectations.
