A month with no new course launch that still beat its financial targets. Book, films, skill, hypothesis, habit and the main insight.
1) Best book
Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Fascinating research on how large a part random circumstances played in the lives of successful people.
2) Films and series
Nastya and I went to the cinema to see Fly Me to the Moon. A decent, light film with something to think about and something to laugh at.
We also kept watching season 3 of Mayor of Kingstown. It’s fairly brutal, but a very interesting thriller about the criminal life of a small American town.
3) Most useful video
I found a YouTube channel called “Ogonyok Dushi” — a collection of very useful thoughts by Oleksiy Arestovych. Recommended.
I carried on watching Steven Furtick’s channel this month too. Every video gives you something deep and spiritual to sit with.
I also watched several new interviews with Taras Chmut on YouTube.
4) Skill I worked on
Optimiser. This month I improved the system I use to manage my life. I organised more space for storing physical things and built a more convenient digital filing system.
I tried to give every object a permanent place of its own.
5) Hypothesis I managed to test
I hired a helper for my parents. They’re pensioners now, and regular cleaning and cooking doesn’t hurt.
A helper comes round a couple of times a week and brings home-cooked food that my parents order themselves. It costs me very little money, but it takes a huge weight off emotionally. I worry far less about how well they’re eating.
I should have done it a long time ago.
6) Habit I worked on
I started using dental floss and new mouthwashes after brushing.
This month I had cavities treated and my tartar cleaned. My dentist explained why flossing every day matters so much. I hadn’t known that a brush physically cannot remove the bacteria that floss reaches.
7) Main insight of the month
Even without launching a new course in July, I beat my financial targets for the month.
I raised my consultation prices again (to 5,000 UAH) to shorten the queue of people (it didn’t help much, honestly).
During consultations I talked more often about working with me in the format of personal mentoring or accompanying a couple — and sold several of my premium services at a high price point.
The insight is very simple: to work with wealthy people for serious money, you need premium products and services. And you need to tell a lot of people about them regularly.
