Hormozi, Dune: Part Two, moving into a new office and the "office rhythm" system, Godox lighting for the studio, and the insight of the month: a hand on the pulse.
1) Best book
I’m still reading $100M Offers by Alex Hormozi. An incredibly useful book if you’re building your own business or working with clients directly.
2) Films and series
The most anticipated film was, naturally, Dune: Part Two. The scale of it is mesmerising.
I also really liked One Life with Anthony Hopkins. An interesting story about how one person’s persistence can change the fate of many people.
3) Most useful video
Pat Flynn’s talk on the Think Media channel called “If You Want to Grow An Audience in 2024, Do This!”
A very useful talk if you’re growing an audience on social media.
4) Skill I worked on
Working in the office from a checklist. On 4 March we moved into a big new office-studio, and now every day of mine happens there.
At the start of each day I write down the main tasks, put them in a certain order and get going. I’ve called this system “the rhythm of the office”.
5) Hypothesis I got to test
For our new studio we bought a Godox SL 60 light. The picture really does come out radically different. Now I understand why every expert on the subject says that sound and light are what matter, and you can film on a phone if you have to.
6) Habit I worked on
Keeping analytics. I’ve started recording the number of direct messages, the number of consultations and the number of courses bought. In the future those figures will let me make more accurate management decisions.
7) Main insight of the month
Gradual, systematic growth comes from the “hand on the pulse” technique. That’s when a business collects all its key metrics (daily or weekly). In our case, we’ve now started recording some of the numbers I described in point 6. We also make a plan for the next month at the start of the current one.
For example, in April we’ll have two courses: “Your Own Polygraph” (about the art of reading other people) and “Author” (about getting your first 10,000 followers with no budget and continuing to grow).
We want to bring 250 people onto those two programmes.
Even when you don’t manage to close a goal like that, this approach still improves the accuracy of your planning.

Reading helps, but what changes a life is specific steps, not reading. Fifty minutes of conversation is usually enough to see which steps are yours.
