Exactly One Month in the New Office

A studio, new equipment, hiring and a course launch. Plus the story of how the ability to read people turned into a ten-year business partnership.

It has been a very busy month. We are setting up the studio, choosing new equipment, looking for new people for the team and solving a pile of small everyday questions all at the same time (I am starting to seriously think about a personal assistant).

I arrive at the office in the morning and sometimes leave at 10 or 11 at night. Nastya and I spend far less time together.

Right now I am preparing the launch of the “Your Own Polygraph” program. It is a course about the art of reading people. Our previous cohort was a year ago and it went very actively. In this course 75% of the time is practice, and the training happens right during the lessons.

In general, the ability to understand people is a hugely underrated skill. I met Bogdan ten years ago. He was around 17 then. He was finishing school, earning money however he could and selling all sorts of small things. I saw great potential in him right away and offered to work together.

Ten years have passed and now we are building a business together. I could not even count how many interesting projects we have done in that time. How much we have strengthened each other and how much we have earned together is just as hard to put into numbers.

Of course, seeing the potential in another person is not enough — you also have to know how to build a relationship. I remember recommending Robert Rohm’s book on personality typology to Bogdan, and a couple of weeks later he came to me and said: “Why is this not taught anywhere? Everyone needs to know this.”

So that is exactly what I teach: the things we should have learned at the start of our business path. For many years I have been sharing the best of what I find and what I apply in my own life. Today I teach everything most current I have on relationships with people in the “Your Own Polygraph” course.

I keep coming back to this topic because 90% of the opportunities in our life walk on two legs. If I had not seen Bogdan’s qualities and his systematic mind back then, I would have missed an incredibly valuable partnership. Today Bogdan works as a marketer on all of my projects and we have a joint business.

If you want to learn to see people too and build strong relationships with them, this is what I teach at the New Lifestyle school.

It is rarely a lack of knowledge
