For a man in general, being ordered around by a woman is an unpleasant situation. Even when those directives are necessary, fair and to the point.
So it is a good idea to replace the imperative tone with questions.
Instead of: “Go on, you are going to help me with the child!” You could ask: “Could you sit with our son for half an hour?”
Instead of: “Wash the dishes!” You could ask: “Do you have 20 minutes to help me clean up the kitchen?”
Questions always sound much better and softer than orders and direct commands.
It seems like a small thing, but it has a direct effect on the climate inside a family.
