Two Test Questions for Couples Who Are Dating

Two questions that help you work out whether this is the person to build a family with. The first thought that comes to mind matters more than long reasoning.

It happens that people have been dating for years and still can’t decide how serious it all is. Is this someone to start a family with, or is this “not my” person after all?

Two test questions may help:

  1. If you saw him (or her) on the street for the first time right now, already knowing everything you know about this person today, would you go up and introduce yourself?

First thought? Yes or no?

  1. If your partner told you it was over between you, would you feel inner relief or would you try to save the relationship? Would you fight, or would you exhale?

First thought.

These questions aren’t a cure-all, and a lot depends on the state you’re in when you ask them.

If you had a serious fight a couple of hours ago and you’re hurt, your answers may come out sharply negative. Whereas if you’re in a good mood and things are fine between you, the answer may be different.

That’s why it makes sense to ask yourself these questions several times, in different circumstances, to understand better what you actually feel about the person.

When you’re just dating, you can end the relationship relatively painlessly and look for someone else. If the scenes, the shouting and the misunderstandings are there from the very start, why should it be any different after the wedding?

The time before the wedding exists precisely so you can look at the person you love very closely, understand their real pattern of behaviour, and then make a decision more consciously.

Have you ever asked yourself questions like these?

Did you have doubts before starting a family?

Texts give you understanding, but your situation is always more specific than any text. Fifty minutes is usually enough to see where the problem actually starts.
