Two areas where I fell badly short this year: health and my family's safety. Plus the three states in which we meet any problem that comes our way.
In my previous posts I talked about the goals I managed to reach in 2023.
Today I want to talk about what didn’t work out.
Looking back at the year that’s ending, I can clearly see that I fell badly short in two very important areas: health and my family’s safety.
There are 3 states we can be in when we deal with the world around us: we act ahead of time (so the problem never even appears on the horizon), we keep pace (and resolve the issue as soon as it shows up), or we fall behind and react (that’s when the flywheel of consequences slowly rolls right over us).
In some areas of life I missed the moment, and now I’m dealing with the consequences of my own carelessness. Reacting to events is far more expensive than planning ahead and setting up the right conditions.
In 2024 (God willing) I’ll do my best to change that.
Do you have areas of life where you feel like you’re behind and catching up?
Want to go deeper?
Reading helps, but what changes a life is specific steps, not reading. Fifty minutes of conversation is usually enough to see which steps are yours.
