In 2023 I finally made my long-standing mastermind idea happen. How the format works, who belongs at the table, and why your circle is 50% of the result.
This year I managed to bring to life an idea I’d had for a long time: a mastermind. For those who haven’t come across this format:
You get together in a small group of 4 to 10 people and take turns voicing your questions about business, growth, or whatever area matters to you.
Each participant takes a turn sharing their thoughts and ideas. Nobody teaches anybody, nobody coaches. There’s no room for a mentor’s tone here. It’s a conversation with people who have similar experience and are growing in the same direction as you.
A mastermind is such a high-quality conversation that those 1.5 hours can speed up what you’re doing several times over.
You can only get that effect if the right participants are at the table. Experience, thinking, values, business turnover — everything has to be roughly at the same level. Otherwise there’s no synergy, and you end up explaining every situation in detail to people who aren’t in the loop.
The people around us are 50% of who we become in life. Surround yourself with smart people who are growing and building their own lives, and you start reaching in those same directions yourself.
Are you happy with the people around you?

Reading helps, but what changes a life is specific steps, not reading. Fifty minutes of conversation is usually enough to see which steps are yours.
