I gave myself a real day off — which is unusual for me. I'm learning to treat rest as an important business process, not as a lost day.
I gave myself a day off. That’s not a typical event for me. These days I actually plan it.
No consultations on that day, no filming, minimum obligations. I only answered a few messages and wrote a post. The rest of the time I rested.
In the morning Nastya and I spent time together and had breakfast. We watched some useful videos on YouTube — which then gave us something to discuss.
After lunch we went for a couple of hours’ walk around VDNKh, the big exhibition park in Kyiv. We took photos and talked along the way. Then we headed to a shopping mall and went to see the film “Civil War” (spectacular, but without much depth, in my opinion).
Days off like this are something new for me. My brain still keeps reminding me that we could have been working during that time, but I pull it back and send it off into idleness.
I’m learning to treat rest as a very important business process in my life. I feel that if I don’t learn to pause and reset, I’ll start catching burnout and apathy.
It seems to me that not letting yourself get to that state is far better than dealing with the consequences afterwards. So I’ll be trying to take one full day a week to really rest and unwind.
Do you know how to rest? Do you plan that time?

Reading helps, but what changes a life is specific steps, not reading. Fifty minutes of conversation is usually enough to see which steps are yours.
