Taking Pauses Along the Way

Taking Pauses Along the Way

For three weeks now I've set aside one day in seven to do nothing productive at all. My weekday output went up and the thoughts about burnout went quiet.

Yesterday I gave myself a day off.

Nastya and I watched a lot of YouTube videos about relationships, I went to the gym, we spent a few hours walking in the park together, I saw my osteopath, and I wrote a post for social media.

This is the third week I’ve been setting aside one day out of seven to do nothing productive and simply rest. Sunday isn’t a classic day off for me, because I spend it at church and visiting my parents.

So for now I’ve picked Friday or Saturday as my lazy day.

Over these three weeks I’ve noticed that my productivity on working days has gone up, and there are far fewer thoughts in my head about professional burnout and emotional exhaustion.

For now I just leave one day completely free for a reset and some rest, without planning anything at all.

At the next stage I want to plan that day off in advance and fill it with things that Nastya and I will genuinely enjoy.

Do you have days off when you disconnect from everything completely? How do you spend that time?

Reading helps, but what changes a life is specific steps, not reading. Fifty minutes of conversation is usually enough to see which steps are yours.
