Why People Can't Fix Their Relationship

Why People Can't Fix Their Relationship

Knowledge about relationships is available to everyone now, but habits are not. Why couples understand what to do and still live the old way.

There are 2 main reasons: a lack of the right knowledge and a lack of the necessary skills.

Knowledge is the easier part. Open Google or YouTube and dive into the world of educational content. Of course, we don’t value free information and we don’t put it into practice, but at least every one of us has access to it.

The right habits and skills are a much harder story. A habit doesn’t form from 3 hours of listening to a useful podcast about relationships on YouTube.

Although with my podcasts it does work, of course — they’re “life-giving”.

Many people already know what they need to do in their relationship to improve things, but they don’t do it.

The right mental route hasn’t been built in their head.

For example, a person understands that raising his voice and bringing up his partner’s past mistakes only does damage. Yet in the middle of an argument he keeps falling into exactly that pattern, and blames himself for it afterwards.

That’s how an old habit works. Until it changes, the relationship will keep getting worse. And it doesn’t much matter how much useful knowledge about relationships and family you have in your head.

That’s why in my educational products I put the main emphasis on small daily actions that take 10-20 minutes.

A person may know and understand very little, but if he trains his brain for 20 minutes every day to think and react differently, the result comes relatively quickly.

For example, Nastya and I simply talk for 20-30 minutes every day. It can be lunch or breakfast together, or a walk in the evening before bed. The main thing is to stay in the context of each other’s life and keep the emotional connection alive.

This approach works for my clients too, which is why I share it in my own courses at the New Lifestyle school.

Do you agree that knowledge alone isn’t enough to build a happy relationship, and that you also need the right habits?

Articles do not fix relationships

Texts give you understanding, but your situation is always more specific than any text. Fifty minutes is usually enough to see where the problem actually starts.
