I like buying quality things. I don’t like going for the cheapest option, because cheap things usually carry a certain aftertaste of cheapness and plastic.
I have my own room at the office. We’re on the basement floor, so our windows sit high up on the wall. To air the room out, you need a stepladder to reach the window handle.
At first I wanted to order the plainest white ladder for 500-600 hryvnia (Ukraine’s currency — roughly fifteen dollars) just to close the question. Then I saw this black-and-yellow model with rubber inserts on the website. Love at first sight.
Black and yellow are the two core brand colours in everything we do. So I ordered that ladder without a second thought.
I paid around 1,600 hryvnia for it — about 1,000 more than I strictly needed to spend. But the amount of joy it gives me every day when I use it…
I’m genuinely glad I bought it, because when you surround yourself with beautiful things, they create a completely different atmosphere and feeling in a space.
I believe it’s better to pay a little more and use a quality thing for a long time than to just buy whatever.
